B.Tech. Receives a New Accreditation from CIM

July 7, 2014

The Bachelor of Technology program has received accreditation from the Canadian Institute of Management (CIM) for the Business component of the combined degree/diploma program. This national accreditation will be effective starting September 1, 2014. This is a great honor for the program, as it recognizes B.Tech. as a leader in business and management education.

Our students dedicate between 20%-30% of class time to GEN TECH (General Technology) courses. These courses allow our students to meet the academic requirements for the Certified in Management (C.I.M.) and Professional Manager (P.Mgr.) designations. Now, graduates from this program will receive a Bachelor of Technology Degree from McMaster University, an Advanced Diploma from Mohawk College in their designated stream, a Business Management Certificate from Mohawk College, in addition to the satisfaction gained from completing a CIM Nationally Accredited Program. B.Tech. graduates will need to demonstrate the appropriate level of managerial experience and submit the appropriate dossiers to the Canadian Institute of Management National Office for assessment.

This new accreditation is a great accomplishment for B.Tech. and it adds an extraordinary amount of value to the program. The Bachelor of Technology partnership is proud to be a unique program choice for University students. This program places large emphasis on fulfilling industry demand and, therefore, graduates are prepared for success in the workplace, both during co-op work terms and in their careers post graduation. That being said, this accreditation is sure to give B.Tech. graduates an additional advantage in the workforce.
